The Flute Al-Bahr is a tribute to the musicality of the ancestral peoples that surround the Mediterranean Sea. “Al-Baḥr [al-Abyaḍ] al-Mutawassiṭ”, or The White Mediterranean Sea in Arabic. The flute has the Hijaz (Hitzaz) scale. The Hijaz scale has other names depending on the context: Spanish Gypsy, Arabic, Raga Jogiya… The Al-Bahr Flute is perfect for creating spontaneous improvisations, with a smooth mid-range transverse embouchure and octave range.

Our flutes are handmade creations crafted one by one with a lot of love. We take care of the bamboos from harvesting, preparation and drying for months. It is a slow and careful process. Each flute that is born has its unique personality. The photos of the flutes are references for you to choose and order your new flute. Due to the wide variety of models and customization possibilities, we require a lead time for delivery:

“Flute Time”.

To create a flute, there is an alchemical consciousness working in the invisible through 4 elements, the craftsman is an interpreter of the process, and when he is integrated into the natural flow of the raw material and participates in each stage of gestation, he develops the subtle art of knowing what each bamboo will be like a flute. The craftsman's intent is shaped by the form and nature of the material. The latent flute awaits the presence of the Being, to manifest what it is from the beginning!

    Great quality product, impeccable finish, excellent bamboo treatment!
    Excellence service!!! The only thing that I found difficult was exactly playing the flute, the embouchure is very complicated and the fingerings are well spaced… But that will be solved with time! But I highly recommend it because it is a great flute!

    Hello, for some time now I have been "dating" a flute in which I gain a beautiful tune, I am in my mystical studies and I fell in love with this style of flute, I know that it would not be recommended to start with this one, however, I am not very attracted to the other than a NAF with "E" tuning. The question is. If I bought this, could I use some didactic material like your workbook? For me to start playing? I saw that the handout has an indication for river cane and Nafs flutes. Would there be a possibility to print some artwork on it? I saw a shiva on YouTube in E that I thought was beautiful. Well, I still can't decide between a Nafs in E or a mystic in E. Thanks in advance for the answer.

    Yes, we usually recommend starting with NAFs because they are easier to learn, but you can start with an Al-Bahr without any problems, it just takes a little more training. 

    The material in our booklet is not suitable for this flute, it is only for native flutes. Along with Al-Bahr, we sent a booklet with the fingering of each note of the flute and an attachment explaining how to correctly play the embouchure.
