The Kawala is a flute (aerophone) native to Egypt, it has 6 holes and is tuned in the natural major scale, the sound is made from the inclination of the flute under the lips forming an angle over the corner of the mouthpiece, it requires a lot of embouchure training to produce a satisfactory sound... being possible to reach up to 3 octaves in some notes. When we master the embouchure, the sky is the limit, it becomes an extension of the mouth! It's one of the simplest and most powerful flutes I've ever seen. Its origin takes us to ancient Egypt and its structure, due to its simplicity, gives the clear feeling of being one of the first flute formats created by mankind. For those who dream of playing Ney, we recommend starting with Kawala !
Although very similar to the Ney, a flute highly popular in traditional Middle Eastern music, the Kawala does not have a hole in the back like the Ney. Kawala has a fundamental tonal structure for the Egyptian folk music community.

Well tuned flute! I don't know of another craftsman who produces this flute here in Brazil. I recommend

The flute is beautiful just as I imagined, it was very much worth the production time! I'm very grateful! Everything arrived impeccably, and communication was always very attentive! Gratitude!
