The Zen Flute is a special nodeless bamboo transverse flute, tuned in the consecrated Minor Pentatonic scale of the Japanese Shakuhachi flute.

The Zen Flute follows the concept of ancient bamboo transverse flutes, being inspired by Asian music. The Zen flute is ideal for spontaneous musical creation of simple, soft and meditative melodies, evoking the Zen oriental atmosphere

The Zen Flute has medium and high tones, which favors initiation into the world of transverse flutes as it has only five holes. Its power lies in the simplicity that will transport you through sonic landscapes of ancient oriental temples.

Tunings

The Zen flute is produced in 3 tunings, with the smallest flute tuned in F (FA), ideal for a first contact. Next we have tuning in E (MI) and D (RE). The flute in D is longer in length and has a deeper sound with greater spacing between the holes, ideal for those who already have practice with transverse flutes.

BAMBOO

The bamboo selected for these flutes is the same Indian bamboo from high acoustic quality Bansuri, without nodes, perfectly cylindrical and with medium to thin wall. The bamboos are shade-dried for 6 months, treated and sealed inside and out with Indian shellac to resist time and variations in humidity and temperature. In addition to protection against fungi.

FINISHES

You can choose between 3 types of finishes on the external part of the flute: natural bamboo, mahogany paint or black walnut paint. All flutes receive non-toxic varnish (Indian shellac) and colored protection threads that can be chosen on the flute page.
