The Native Flute Black Series is part of our exclusive Native Flute Ashar collection in NAF (Native American Flute) style. It is a flute with 5 or 6 holes of musical notes that reproduce the minor pentatonic scale. The flute has a whistle and the air is directed to the whistle by a block in animal shape that represents the spirit of the flute.
We produce the Native Flute Black Series in 7 tunings that cover the medium/high range tones. A (LA4) being the standard tuning, as an option you can choose the keys: G, F#, F, E, D and C following in descending order to lower (bass) tones which corresponds to longer flutes.
For a first contact with the instrument we recommend the A or G tuning as they are smaller flutes and F# for being the classical tuning of the native flute.
The bamboo selected for these flutes is of high acoustic quality, with thick walls. The bamboos are shade-dried for at least 6 months, treated and sealed to resist time and variations in humidity, temperature and antifungal protection.
The mouthpieces of the NAF Black Series flutes are made of noble Peroba Mica wood.
The NAF Black Series Flute has finishes of black walnut or tobacco dye paint with varnish. Over the paint are applied 3 layers of natural clarified Indian shellac varnish that leave the flutes with a glossy finish.
