The Al-Bahr Flute is a tribute to the ancient peoples and cultures that surround the Mediterranean Sea. “Al-Baḥr [al-Abyaḍ] al-Mutawassiṭ”, means The White Mediterranean Sea in Arabic.

tunings

The Al-Bahr flute is produced in 4 tunings, the smallest flute tuned in F (FA), ideal for a first contact. Then we have tuning in E (MI), D (RE) and C (DO). As the flute in D and C is longer and has a more serious sound, with greater spacing between the holes, it is ideal for those who already have experience with transverse flutes.

BAMBOO

The bamboo selected for these flutes is the same Indian bamboo from Bansuri with high acoustic quality, no internodes, perfectly cylindrical and with medium to thin walls. The bamboos are cad in the shade for 6 months, treated and sealed inside and out with Indian shellac to withstand time and variations in humidity and temperature. FINISHES

You can choose between 3 types of finishes on the outside of the flute, natural bamboo, mahogany painting or black walnut painting. All flutes receive non-toxic varnish (Indian shellac) and colored protective threads that can be chosen on the flute page. Choose a finish below and on the flute page you can choose the tuning.
