The Zen Flute is a transverse flute in special bamboo without knot, tuned in the consecrated Minor Pentatonic scale of the Japanese Shakuhachi flute.

The Zen Flute follows the concept of ancient bamboo transverse flutes, being inspired by Asian music. The Zen flute is ideal for spontaneous musical creation of smooth, meditative simple melodies that evoke the oriental Zen atmosphere.

The Zen Flute has medium and high tones, which favors initiation into the world of transverse flutes as it has only five holes. Its power is in the simplicity that will transport you through the soundscapes of ancient oriental temples.

The Zen flute is produced in 3 tunings, the smallest flute being tuned in F (FA), ideal for a first contact. Then we have tuning in E (MI) and D (RE). The D flute is longer and has a deeper sound with greater spacing between the holes, ideal for those who already have practice with transverse flutes.

The bamboo selected for these flutes is the same high acoustic quality Indian bamboo from Bansuri, no internodes, perfectly cylindrical and medium to thin walled. The bamboos are dried in the shade for 6 months, treated and sealed inside and out with Indian shellac to resist weather and variations in humidity and temperature. In addition to fungus protection.

You can choose between 3 types of finishes on the outside of the flute, being natural bamboo, mahogany painting or black walnut painting. All flutes receive non-toxic varnish (Indian shellac) and colored protective threads that can be chosen on the flute page. Choose a tuning below and on the flute page you can choose the finish. We don't produce in quantity, we create the flute for YOU, with full attention to sound quality.
